He can play them pretty good, too.

In a dusty shed in a backyard in Memphis somewhere (sound familiar?) one finds Matt Isbell in his natural habitat. He's measuring, drilling, cutting, and sanding his next masterpiece. Is it a cigar box? Or is it his old silverware drawer? It might be an old hub cap. Whatever it is, today Matt's making it into an instrument.

For an in-depth glimpse, My buddy Alexander Conrads created an award winning video of him you can see here.

To say Matt's familiar with the music would be an understatement. He's the lead singer and guitarist for the Ghost Town Blues Band, recognized as 2nd place in the 2014 International Blues Challenge. I highly recommend you listen to their album Hard Road to Hoe. You can pick it up on iTunes. You'll love these guys.

Sometimes I help Matt make guitar slides. It's always a good time hanging in the shop, listening to blues, contemplating tours, festivals, and creating things.

"Keeping the simple things simple this holiday season..." Matt says.
