Another legendary night.
Got to be in the presence of a real king, the one and only Nasir Jones aka NAS. 👑
This man’s music has changed the world and his business savvy is as equally meticulous as the rhymes he writes.
Conscious hip-hop that will forever be etched into the history books as one of the greatest to ever pick up a pen, pad, and microphone.
To me, NAS is the best living true hip-hop artist of this time right now. I try to think of others but none come up.
From the projects of Queens, New York, to around the world, NAS’s influence spans over 8 consecutive platinum and multi-platinum albums and 30 million+ sold worldwide.
I used to mow lawns growing up listening to ILLMATIC on repeat, cutting grass nodding my head up and down to “New York State of Mind.” I was pushing grocery carts from the parking lot back inside the local supermarket jamming to “Life’s a Bitch” in highschool.
When “One Mic” and “Ether” came out with Stillmatic, I remember the listening to the album at the FYE music store in the mall. Iconic.
When NAS and Damian Marley collaborated and created the “Distant Relatives” album, this just did it for me. I’m a huge reggae lover and to combine the greatest hip-hop with reggae influence from a son of one of the greatest if not THE greatest reggae artist of all time, man… that was it for me.
Not to mention his latest business ventures and investments, NAS crosses over from Hip-Hop Great to Entrepreneur and Mogul. This guy is a true genius and I’m grateful to have seen him perform and to be able to take these photos you see here.
